Diagnostic Summary

Latency spike (+380%) began 90s after the 14:30 deploy. Slow-query log shows an unindexed lookup on orders.customer_id introduced in that release.

What to check first

  • Check the 14:30 deploy — failures began two minutes after it
  • Compare P95 latency with the previous 7 days
  • Re-run the check after the fix to confirm recovery

Pattern: failures cluster between 14:00 and 15:00 UTC on weekdays.

AI-Powered Capabilities

Intelligence built into every check

Not just uptime pings — Halvyn rechecks network blips before it pages, turns an outage into one incident, and writes the summary for you.

Detection that doesn't cry wolf

A timeout or connection reset is rechecked within the same run before it counts as a failure, and an incident opens only after your consecutive-failure threshold. When a shared dependency goes down, you get one alert, not one per affected service.

Automatic blip recheckConsecutive-failure thresholdsFlap detectionDependency-aware suppression

AI summaries & insights

Every new incident can carry a plain-English summary of what failed. Monitor insights compare the last 7 days with the 7 before, flag recurring failure hours, and warn of SSL expiry weeks ahead.

Automated Workflows

Instant alert routing via email, Slack, SMS, and phone with on-call escalation policies — one open incident per outage, escalated until resolved.

Early-warning rules

Alert before an outage, not after it. Rules watch P95 latency and error rate per monitor and notify Slack or email when a threshold is crossed; SLO burn alerts warn when your error budget is going too fast.

✦ AI Analytics

From uptime pings to insight

Halvyn doesn't just tell you when things break — it shows you the patterns behind the failures, so you can fix the cause.

History

Full-history health

Insights read every check in your plan's retained history — uptime, average latency and incident count — so you see the long-run picture, not just today's.

  • Uptime & latency across retained history
  • Per-monitor latency percentiles
  • Incident count per monitor
Patterns

Intelligent Pattern Recognition

Detects recurring downtime windows by hour-of-day and day-of-week — surfacing whether your Monday 2 AM deploys are the actual culprit before your engineers start guessing.

  • Hour-of-day failure heatmap
  • Day-of-week risk scoring
  • Recurring outage detection
Insights

Trend & risk scoring

Compares the last 7 days with the 7 before, rates each monitor's trend and risk, and recommends the next step — so a slow decline is visible before it becomes an outage.

  • 7-day vs prior 7-day comparison
  • Trend and risk rating
  • Recommended next action

Incident Engine

One incident per outage.
Escalated until it's fixed.

When a monitor crosses its failure threshold, Halvyn opens exactly one incident — no alert storms. It escalates across channels, then auto-resolves and records the full timeline the moment service recovers.

  • Deduplicated — one open incident per monitor
  • On-call rotation escalation policies
  • Auto-resolve with timeline & post-mortem notes

Automation Flow

One pulse from failure to fixed

Every outage rides the same automated path — no runbook lookups, no manual triage, no forgotten tickets.

1

Detect

A failed check is rechecked within the same run, and an incident opens only after consecutive failures — a single blip never pages anyone.

2

Summarise

AI writes a plain-English summary of what failed and when, attached to the incident.

3

Auto-Resolve

One incident per outage. The moment service recovers it closes itself, with the full timeline attached.

4

Notify

The right person, on the right channel — email, Slack, SMS or voice — escalated until acknowledged.

Illustrative. The metered column is modelled at $7 per monitor per month, mid-range for per-host and per-check vendors. Real pricing varies by vendor, region and configuration.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Plans, limits, alerting and setup — the things people ask before signing up.

Still stuck? Talk to us
01Do I need to install an agent?

No. Halvyn runs checks remotely from our worker region. Heartbeats and mobile beacons are inbound — your app or cron posts to a URL. There is nothing to deploy on your servers.

02How is this cheaper than Datadog?

We charge one flat price per plan instead of metering per host, per check, and per feature. So your bill does not grow as you add monitors.

03What happens when I hit my plan limit?

Creating a monitor beyond your plan limit returns a clear "plan limit reached" message — nothing is silently dropped, and existing monitors keep running. Upgrade any time to raise the limits.

04Which alert channels are supported?

Email, Slack, Teams, Discord, Google Chat, webhooks, SMS and voice calls, depending on your plan. One incident is opened per outage and escalated until it is acknowledged or resolved.

05Is there a free plan?

Yes — a free-forever plan, no credit card required.
